ZIRCONIUM CONSTRUCTIONS. WHAT IS THAT?

Construction Zirconium

Zirconium is as durable as natural tooth enamel and therefore zirconium crowns except in the event of an accident or a big shock, they are unlikely to break in general.

Zirconium is a new generation material for dental structures, which is as hard as a metal and has long been proven in durability, as it is used in armor-piercing clothing for the army. Zirconium is biocompatible and does not cause allergies.
Clinical trials and material tests have shown that the use of zirconium oxide (ZnO2) guarantees a safe, durable and stable dental restoration and to date no negative effects or allergies caused by zirconium have been identified and this material has been successfully used for more than 10 years by the dental industry.

What are the advantages of zirconium constructions?

The advantage of all-zirconia constructions is thinner compared to metal-ceramic. Preparing a tooth for a ceramic crown requires removing 1.5-2.0 mm of hard tooth tissue. Whereas in the case of the zirconium crown, only 0.3-0.5 mm is removed from the tooth surface. This is why the crown or the bridge becomes thinner, not as massive as the ceramic ones. This in turn leads to sparing the gums
Zirconia is as durable as natural tooth enamel and therefore, barring an accident or a major impact, it is unlikely to break under everyday circumstances.

ZIRCONIUM CROWNS

Thanks to its ability to transmit light, zirconium porcelain gives crowns a natural appearance, in harmony with natural teeth and thus achieves an excellent aesthetic result. Due to the fact that there is no metallic reflection under the porcelain, the teeth do not look artificial
Zirconia crowns do not show the gum discoloration that is common in metal skeleton crowns. Cleaning is quick and easy. It has exceptional hardness and density – withstands the highest chewing loads in all areas
Due to the strength and durability of this type of porcelain, as well as its good aesthetic appearance, there are no restrictions on its use, the only contraindication to prostheses with zirconium crowns is for patients with bruxism, but there is a solution for them, after cementation, a protective rail is made
Zirconia porcelain can be used for the restoration of single dental crowns in the front and back of the jaws, in the fabrication of bridge structures in the absence of front teeth or canines and also in complete dentures on implants.
